Kieran Murray is from Ramelton, Co Donegal. He had a kidney transplant in Summer 2012 and he will be competing in the 30-39 years age category in the following events:
- 5Km road race
- Track 1500m
- Track 800m
- Track 200m
Kieran is married with three children and he manages to find time to practice his golf and get out running. The European Transplant & Dialysis Sports Championships in Krakow last year was Kieran’s first time to pull on an Irish jersey and he did very well coming away with: 3 gold medals and 1 bronze medal.
Keen to build on his experiences from last year, Kieran is moving to the world stage to compete. He is in a competitive age category and he has chosen competitive sports but he has been putting in the training so he is ready!
It will be an opportunity to meet transplant recipients from many different countries and the chance to represent his country in such a prestigious event is a challenge he is relishing. Milford AC has been instrumental in assisting his preparations and they will be watching his progress at the Games with great interest.
