We Want You!

Our team has been in existence for many years and every year it grows stronger. Its strength comes from the people who make up the team.

  • Are you a transplant recipient?
  • Are you on dialysis?
  • Are you a supporter?
  • Could you be a team sponsor (we are looking for a kit sponsor)?

YOU can join our team – newcomers are welcome year round, as is financial support!

We have just started an online fundraising campaign to help get as many transplant recipients as possible to next year’s World Transplant Games in Newcastle. Every Euro donated will help us achieve our goal of getting as many transplant recipients as possible doing as much physical activity as possible. Please click on the link below.

Support our Team for WTG2019

With the media coverage that our team will generate through their achievements at the Games the key message about the importance and success of organ donation for transplantation will reach a wider audience – the bigger our team, the bigger our impact!

Sports Programme 2019

Planning for our 2019 season is well under way. We have a big two years ahead of us with the Worlds on just across the water in Newcastle in August and we will be hosting the Europeans in 2020 – a great opportunity to up our game and grow our programme!

Facilities Currently booked for 2019 are listed below. We are also open to booking other facilities on other dates as we are actively seeking input from National Governing Bodies and others so that we can offer as many opportunities as possible for people to achieve their own goals in relation to transplant/dialysis sport.

I look forward to people networking and coming together outside any centrally planned sessions so that we embrace as many people as possible and open opportunities to ensure that we all stay motivated to achieve our personal goals.

Please see the sports schedule for next year’s World Transplant Games below:

WTG 2019 Schedule TTI

You can enter up to 5 different events but you cannot do two different sports on the same day. Registration will be opening in early December and I am guessing that numbers will be big for Newcastle so get in early in order to guarantee your entry in your chosen sport(s).

World Transplant Games 2019

Plans for next year’s World Transplant Games in Newcastle/Gateshead (August 17th-24th) are well advanced and it looks like it is going to be exceptionally well organised and that there will be a huge attendance!

The Games are on our doorstep so it is a fantastic opportunity for us to have our biggest travelling team yet! We are looking for expressions of interest at this stage – official Games Registration is due to open in early December.

If you would like to be kept up to date about our team plans for the Games please fill in your details in this link: WTG2019 Expression of Interest. If you have any specific questions please contact me (colin@ika.ie or 01 620 5306).

Don’t forget, we are hosting the 2020 European Transplant & Dialysis Sports Championships in Dublin so we need to make a lot of noise at WTG2019 to make sure that we encourage as many Europeans as possible to join us from August 9th-16th.
